Up to £200 savings on Sony cameras and lenses
I was in John Lewis yesterday and noticed a couple of things. First, no Sony camera bodies on display. Why? They had sold them all and were waiting for new stock. Plenty of Canon and Nikon bodies but no Sony.
Second, Sony are offering a cashback incentive if you buy a new body or lens, the promo has been running since 17th October but closes on 31st January, 2019. If you’re planning on making the investment now might be a good time. Typical Sony there’s one figure for each camera (from £380 down to £50) and another for each lens (from £800 down to £40). However there’s some smaller than small print saying you can get double the published value if you buy a body and lens together. All explained in clause 5 on the back.
I’ve scanned part of the offer leaflet but check with the retailer or with Sony. The small print is tiny and best be sure before you flash the cash.
There you go, act now while the offer is there.
On the way back to the car I went past a camera store that does a great trade in secondhand equipment. I have in the past bought three secondhand cameras and never had any trouble so being in the frame of mind to get a new wide angle E-mount lens I took a look. Guess what? Plenty of Canon and Nikon – lenses and bodies – but very little Sony (neither Sony-Sony nor Sigma or Samyang). What do we conclude? Could people be jumping ship from Canon / Nikon to Sony? You tell me.
Cashback – this also applies to Sony accessories so if you get an SF-G64 or 32 memory card you can claim either £25 or £15 from Sony.
