35mm Slide Scanner Amnesty

Your unloved scanner can be used to buy professional scanning

Do you own a 35mm slide scanner / 35mm negative scanner that you’re unhappy with? If you do our Slide Scanner Amnesty lets you obtain a credit for the full cost of the unit against the cost of scanning by 1Scan. It’s a scheme that gives you both high quality digital images and a way of getting a return on the investment you’ve made.

1Scan is offering this Amnesty to give clients the chance to see how good professional scans can be, and the time you can save by outsourcing photo scanning.

All you need to do is send your unit to 1Scan along with your 35mm slides, negatives or prints, proof of purchase.

We will scan your photos - slides and negatives will be scanned at 4000 dpi to jpg files using Digital ICE where possible; prints are scanned at 600 dpi. The full cost of your scanner including postage will be credited against our standard scanning charges.

Your original 35mm slides, 35mm negatives and prints will be returned to you along with a CD or DVD with your digital images.

Questions?
Which scanners are we accepting?
Any unit that scans 35mm slides / negatives or prints. Typically these are USB connected units. Brand names include Veho, Agfaphoto, Ion and Summit but there are many others.

Any sort of condition?
Yes, it doesn’t matter if they’re working or not. We don’t need any associated items such as software, CDs with manuals etc and the unit doesn’t need to be in its original packaging.

Proof of purchase
We will accept the original or a copy of your receipt; original / copy of your credit card statement for that purchase. If you have neither let us know where your scanner (or its current version) can be bought, we’ll use that value. VAT will be included.

What will we do with the scanners?
We’ll dispose of them humanely. The video below shows the end of a Minolta scanner. There’s a story behind the movie.
