Viewing Scanned Images on TVIf you take a DVD with our photo scan jpgs on you should be able to view it on your TV, assuming you have a DVD player connected. We can’t be 100% sure as DVD players vary in specification but they should be viewable. The question is, how good do they look?
The quality of the photos you see on screen will depend on the quality of your DVD player and your TV. In some instances they look great, unfortunately sometimes the output is less than stunning. To get a good image your set-up needs to read the file, convert it into a TV signal and handle the difference between the aspect ratio of your camera and the way your TV set displays images. This can result in a disappointing result. If you look at our scans on a computer screen then on your TV you’ll see if any quality is lost.
How can you get over any loss of quality?
One method is to create a TV slideshow. Essentially this involves selecting some or all of your photos and turning them into a movie. This can then be burned onto a DVD to play “naturally” in your DVD player. You can add sound as a background, special dissolve effects, captions etc, all of which can add life to a slideshow. More significantly you’ll be using the power of your computer to render your images properly to handle your TV’s widescreen capability.
