What
equipment do you use?
The best - our scanners are made by Nikon and Epson. 35mm slides
are scanned on Nikon Coolscan 5000, prints and medium format on Epson 4990. Both are regarded
as the best units in their field and produce professional quality results.

How does it work?
Simple – just post your photos,
slides or negatives to this address:-

Include your contact details, an
e-mail address,
and a note of the service you’d like. We’ll scan
your images
and send them back to you on CD
or DVD along
with an invoice. If you’re happy with the
quality
of images you receive – settle the invoice.
Collection
We appreciate that your images are precious, so if you'd rather not entrust
your images to the mail we will collect. You must be in the London, Essex,
North Kent or within the M25 boundary. Cost for collection and return is
£25.
Do I get my
originals back?
Yes, of course
How long does it take?
You should allow a week, if we’re going to take longer we’ll let you
know.
Where can I
get prints done?
Anywhere – Boots, Kodak and or the traditional local photographer can
oblige, alternatively there are many internet services where you can e-mail
your photos and get prints back by post.
Can I print
at home?
Yes, our files will print in standard photographic applications as well
as cut and paste into letters, reports, proposals etc.

Can you
handle short negative strips?
Yes we can. Some scanning services rely on machines that only handle
negatives in defined lengths, in our view a less than complete service. We
can scan down to a single image.
Digital
ICE?
This is a special hardware facility built in to advanced scanners which
automatically removes dust and scratches. Our equipment supports
Digital
ICE. Please remember Digital ICE does not work on all Kodachrome slides
or monochrome originals.
Colour restoration? My images are over 30 years old and have faded?
All our scanners have advanced features to restore images to their former
glory. This will be applied as we see necessary under the Home service, and
at your instruction with the Professional service.
File
formats
We offer as standard .tiff (Professional service) and jpeg files (Home
service); if you need any other format
please contact us.
Negatives?
Photos? Costs
We charge 'per image', so a negative is one image and a photo is one image.
Suppose I
want some pictures done later at a higher resolution?
We are finding that some clients would like particular cherished
images done at the highest resolution. So, if you'd like us to scan images
again at the Professional level we will credit you with the cost of the
initial Home scan for that image.
Can you
convert VHS to DVD?
Yes, full details are here.
I want my
images scans according to my criteria. Can you do this?
Yes, some people are keen to have their images scanned in a very particular
way, wherever possible we will adopt your parameters, however this may
involve additional cost.
Grain Anti-aliasing
This problem is explained here, and we
have introduced an additional service to overcome this. For details of how
